Workshops on Youth, Culture, and Development
Sihanoukville, Cambodia, 26-30 January 2009
Vientianne, Lao PDR, 23-27 February 2009
SEAMEO-SPAFA, with the support of the ASEAN Foundation, is now offering culture and development workshops for youths in Southeast Asia. The rationale for this is based upon the growing consensus that investment in young people in developing countries is critical for the future because it does not only benefit that group but the whole of society as well, bringing with it economic returns, peace and human security.
Young persons aged between 18-25 years are invited to apply for the workshops. Scholarships are provided to facilitate participation and applications are welcomed from all young people who are interested in culture and development. There are no higher education requirements or specific work experience requirements. However, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have a genuine interest in the issues of culture and development, and have a fair command of English language. Click on the Workshop icon on the left for information and application form.
Recently workshops were held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 03-07 November 2008 and Hanoi, Vietnam, from 15-19 December 2008.
