Telling Tales from Southeast Asia and Korea: Teachers’ Guide - SEAMEO APCEIU

Published in 2010, 'Telling Tales from Southeast Asia and Korea' is a collection of 27 folktales from 11 Southeast Asian countries and Korea.

As story-telling is one of the most effective ways to teach young people about the world, the folktales in the book promote better awareness among school children of the similarities, diversity, and inter-dependence of the Asian community.  The publication is designed particularly to guide teachers in integrating folktales in school lessons to stimulate creativity and discussions in classrooms.  It is the product of a collaboration involving the SEAMEO Secretariat, Asia-Pacific Center of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU), SEAMEO INNOTECH, and SEAMEO SPAFA.
