Objectives

This conference would contribute significantly to the ongoing culture and development discourse by providing a platform for the presentation of individual experiences, new findings, and viewpoints. By encouraging public participation from across all sectors of society, the presentation of shared experiences and common understandings could prove to be the inspirational and motivating factors that can channel positive changes and encourage more pro-active engagement by all.

This third international conference on Culture and Development: Channeling Real Change aims to:

Provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences from those involved in projects who have taken initiatives that have resulted in positive change leading to increased mutual understanding, tolerance, and respect

Promote the concept of pro-activism and self-reliance through the presentation of case studies from individuals, groups, or organizations; and from within the public or private domain

Explore the many options/modalities available within arts and sports that can help enable real changes in people, altering their perspectives and outlook; challenging their attitudes and assumptions

Examine the opportunities that abound within the corporate and media sectors that can be harnessed or channeled to effect change; and

Facilitate access to resources and strengthen national, as well as, regional networks.
