Urgently requires:
I. DEPUTY CENTRE DIRECTOR
The Deputy Centre Director will assist the Centre Director in the management of the SEAMEO SPAFA Centre and its programmes and projects, in accordance with the policy directions of the Governing Board. Tenure of Appointment: Contract for 3 years (renewable) Qualifications: – A citizen of any ASEAN Country, except Thailand. – Age between 40 – 60 years at time of application. – At least a Master’s Degree in the field of archaeology, history, fine arts, cultural management or other related fields. – At least five years’ experience in teaching and/or research in the fields of SEAMEO SPAFA’s concerns. – At least five years’ experience in administering a unit, office or agency of a similar nature as SEAMEO SPAFA. – Proficiency in English both in writing and speaking. Proficiency in other languages is an asset. – Competence computer and internet skills. Salary and benefits: Monthly salary with tax exemption is 75,000 Baht. The Deputy Centre Director is entitled to various benefits and allowances such as: 1. An installation grant (allowance) for his/her installation and that of his/her dependents when relocating; 2. Transportation costs from the staff member’s recognized home or place of recruitment to the duty station upon taking up appointment; 3. Medical care which include medical treatment and hospitalization through a health insurance scheme.II. SENIOR SPECIALIST IN ARCHAEOLOGY
The Senior Specialist in Archaeology will assist in planning and in the implementation of projects in archaeology in accordance with the policy decisions of the Governing Board. He/she shall also assist in the organization and management of the support services of SPAFA in the promotion and dissemination of knowledge, appreciation, and professional competence in archaeology among the countries of the region. Tenure of Appointment: Contract for 3 years (renewable) Duties and responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Centre Director, the incumbent shall: a) Formulate, justify, plan, and coordinate programme activities such as seminars, training, workshops, research, exchange of personnel and other activities which will further develop professional competence in archaeology and related fields. b) Identify issues and concerns in archaeology where SPAFA needs to play a pioneering role, or initiate a model activity which will advance knowledge, increases appreciation and professional competence the archaeology within the region. c) Produce publications, help promote, disseminate knowledge, appreciation, and enhance archaeology in the region. d) Act as adviser and specialist to the Library and Documentation Staff in the preparation of bibliographic tools, organize reference materials, data and information, and help promote and disseminate knowledge in respective fields. e) Represent SPAFA on such occasions as assigned by the Centre Director. f) Undertake such other duties as the Centre Director may assign, commensurate with the scope, purpose and that which can be reasonably expected, of the post. Qualifications and experience: a) A citizen of any ASEAN Country. b) Age between 40 – 65 years at time of application. c) A doctorate degree in archaeology. b) At least five years experience of anthropological and archaeological research in Southeast Asia, with extensive field experience in undertaking archaeological research and scholarly in publications. c) Ability to plan, develop, and undertake projects and provide essential leadership. d) Proficiency in English both in writing and speaking. Proficiency in other languages is an asset. e) Competence computer and internet skills.
