SEAMEO SPAFA expresses its condolences to the family of Mr. Kevin Charles Kettle. Kevin worked with SEAMEO SPAFA for 13 years as Project Development Officer from 6 June 2000 to 6 June 2013, before returning back to his native homeland of England to take care of his ailing mother. The news of his passing was a great shock to all of his former colleagues and friends.
In his many years with SEAMEO SPAFA Centre, he was key to many of the Centre’s programme activities, such as: Art of Storytelling Workshop and Participation in Thailand’s First International Storytelling Festival (February 2013), Cultural Heritage and Climate Change (March 2013), SEAMEO-APCEIU Collaboration on the Development of Educational Material – Art of Illustration for Education in Southeast Asia (November 2012), Conservation, Communication and Community (CollAsia 2010 International Course, Workshop, Museum Collections), and Managing the Integration of Culture into Development Programmes (2005), just to name a few.
Kevin undoubtedly contributed significantly to SEAMEO SPAFA’s programme activities during his 13 year tenure with the Centre. His energy and commitment drove the programmes forward. To those who knew Kevin – from co-workers to past alumni – what he will be most remembered for are his smile, wits and friendly nature.
Rest in peace, Kevin.
