Description of Post:
The Deputy Centre Director will assist the Centre Director in the administration of the SEAMEO SPAFA Centre, in accordance with the policy directions of the Governing Board.
a) Assist the Centre Director in the overall management and supervision of the SEAMEO SPAFA Centre.
b) Assist in co-ordinating the implementation of programmes and operations.
c) Assist the Centre Director in organizing and managing the dissemination of knowledge in Southeast Asian archaeology and fine arts to professionals and global academic communities working in these fields.
d) Assist the Centre Director in undertaking necessary activities in securing financial and technical assistance, and in public relations.
e) Represent SEAMEO SPAFA on such occasions as assigned by the Centre Director.
f) Plan SEAMEO SPAFA Governing Board Meetings, including the preparation of the agenda, working papers, progress reports, plans of activities and
recommendations.
g) Undertake such other duties as the Centre Director may assign, commensurate with the scope, purpose and that which can be reasonably expected of the post.
a) A citizen of any ASEAN Country, except Thailand.
b) Age between 40 – 65 years at time of application.
c) A university degree in the field of archaeology, history, fine arts, cultural management or other related fields.
d) At least five years’ experience in teaching and/or research in the fields of SEAMEO SPAFA’s concerns.
e) At least five years’ experience in administering a unit, office or agency of a similar nature as SEAMEO SPAFA.
f) Proficiency in English both in writing and speaking. Proficiency in other languages is an asset.
g) Competent computer and internet skills.
