As is traditional for our SPAFACON, participants can sign up for optional day trips to explore heritage sites in the vicinity of Bangkok. All excursions will depart from the Amari Watergate hotel.
EXCURSION 1: Western Thailand

Embark on a captivating one-day excursion that takes you on a journey through the rich history and cultural heritage of Western Thailand. Departing from Amari Bangkok in the morning, our unforgettable adventure begins at the awe-inspiring Phra Pathom Chedi, a towering testament to the introduction of Buddhism into Thailand, boasting the title of the world's tallest stupa. Our next stop, the Phra Pathom Chedi National Museum, invites you to delve into the fascinating history of Nakhon Pathom, with exhibits ranging from the Dvaravati Civilization to the city's evolution over the years. As we continue, we'll visit the iconic Bridge on the River Kwai, a poignant reminder of World War II history and a symbol of peace today. Our excursion concludes with a visit to the Ban Kao National Museum, which houses prehistoric antiquities from archaeological excavations in Kanchanaburi Province. This remarkable day of exploration, inclusive of lunch, refreshments, and admission fees, promises to leave you enriched with the cultural tapestry of Western Thailand, all before returning to Amari Bangkok in the evening.
EXCURSION 2: Si Thep - Lopburi

This extraordinary overnight excursion departs from Amari Bangkok in the morning, heading north to Phetchabun province where we will visit the Si Thep Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you'll explore the ancient town's two distinct zones, each holding a treasure trove of archaeological wonders. Discover Prang Si Thep, a splendid ancient Khmer religious site, and Khao Klang Nai, an archaeological marvel with a storied past. Dive into the mesmerizing Prang Song Phi Nong temple and Khao Klang Nok, a towering Buddhist stupa, both steeped in history. Following an overnight stop at Si Thep, we head to Lopburi province where we will visit King Narai's Palace, now a national museum. Our journey continues to Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, home to the tallest Prang in Lopburi, and Wichayen House, once the abode of envoys and the notable Constantine Phaulkon. We return to Amari Bangkok in the evening, enriched by the history, artistry, and charm of this remarkable region.
