The official Call for Sessions is now open for the 2027 SEAMEO SPAFA International Conference (SPAFACON2027).
As the premier platform for Southeast Asian archaeology and fine arts (including performing and visual arts), SPAFACON brings together researchers, professionals, practitioners, policymakers, educators, enthusiasts and communities from across the region and beyond. This call offers an opportunity for session conveners to lead the conversation, foster collaboration, and propose themes that address the challenges, breakthroughs, and narratives shaping cultural heritage today.
Why Propose a Session?
A session proposal provides the space to feature a specific area of expertise, interests, or research focus. It allows session conveners to build valuable networks by connecting with international peers, field experts, and institutions working on similar themes, while ultimately helping to steer the academic and practical directions of Southeast Asian culture.

Conference Dates: 14-16 June 2027 (excluding excursions and side events)
Location: Bangkok, Thailand
Who Can Apply?
Session proposals are welcome from archaeologists, artists, historians, cultural managers, museum professionals, performers, community advocates, and researchers, from emerging scholars to established experts.
The conference welcomes session themes centered around the diverse culture of Southeast Asia.
