Did you know that an Orang Laut ‘adopts’ his boat spellbinding it with special supernatural powers? By doing so, they merge their own identity with the boat.
Living afloat the oceans in Southeast Asia are various groups of sea nomads. One such group is the Orang Suku Laut. For centuries, the ocean and coastal areas have been their life and living spaces.
Cynthia Chou will lead us on a journey with them to understand how they engage with the oceans.
