Watershed Governance in a Context of Climate Change Tenure and Policy Reform Processes

Seventh Executive Forum on Natural Resources Management 6-10 August 2012, SEARCA, College, Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), in cooperation with the Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific (RECOFTC) and the ASEAN Social Forestry Network, is pleased to invite applications to the Seventh Executive Forum on Natural Resource Management focused on Watershed Governance in a Context of Climate Change: Tenure and Policy Reform Processes.   This five-day executive forum focuses on key concepts, governance models, and practical tools and techniques for understanding, designing, implementing, and managing processes and institutions toward effective, equitable and ecologically sustainable use and management of watersheds and their ecosystem resources, goods and services.   Participants may belong to any of these following categories:
  1. Land use planners and government officials responsible for community forestry, water, natural resources and environmental management and regulation;
  2. Board members and leaders of watershed associations/councils, forest and water resource users federations; and
  3. Senior staff of civil society organizations and corporate units actively involved in implementing or supporting the implementation of watershed-based development strategies, management programs and projects.
  The registration fee of US$ 610 includes lodging, forum materials and meals, and airport transfers.  Participants or their organizations will shoulder their own international travel.  SEARCA is now receiving expressions of interest and accomplished application and nomination forms (attached) until 9 July 2012.  Limited support is available only for qualified participants who are nationals of selected Southeast Asian countries and are employees of government agencies or state universities.   For more details, please see attached executive forum flyer and program of activities or feel free to send an email to Dr. Maria Celeste H.
